Iranian Successfully Exports Hemodialysis Machines to Four Countries

In a significant achievement, an Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully exported hemodialysis machines to four countries, including Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, and Indonesia. These machines play a vital role in the process of dialysis, filtering a patient's blood to eliminate excess water and waste products when the kidneys are damaged, dysfunctional, or absent.

Iran (IMNA) - The hemodialysis machine serves as an artificial kidney, comprising plastic tubing that carries the extracted blood to the dialyzer. The dialyzer consists of a collection of hollow fibers acting as a semipermeable membrane, facilitating the removal of impurities. During the filtration process, the blood is diffused with a saline solution known as dialysate, while the dialysate is simultaneously diffused with the blood. Once the filtration process is complete, the purified blood is returned to the patient, promoting their overall health and well-being.

This successful export of hemodialysis machines highlights the advanced capabilities of the Iranian knowledge-based company in providing critical healthcare equipment to countries in need.

Knowledge-Based Company Aids Dialysis Patients with Domestic Hemodialysis Machines

Most dialysis patients, who suffer from kidney impairment or failure, rely on dialysis machines at clinics for treatment. However, a peritoneal dialysis machine offers a convenient alternative that can be used at home, eliminating the need for regular clinic visits. This machine allows patients to have control over their own dialysis, using it during the day and even while sleeping.

According to ISNA, in 2013, a knowledge-based company took proactive measures to address the challenges faced by dialysis patients in Iran. With international sanctions intensifying, particularly on medical equipment such as hemodialysis machines, the company aimed to meet the needs of the country's 30,000 dialysis patients and alleviate their suffering.

As a result of these efforts, there are currently 1,000 domestically-produced hemodialysis machines in operation across 260 public and private centers, providing crucial support to dialysis patients nationwide.

Iran Emerges as a Leading Producer of Hemodialysis Machines, Exporting to Afghanistan and Other Countries

In a significant development, Iran has successfully exported its first shipment of hemodialysis machines to Afghanistan, marking a major milestone for the country's medical technology sector. This achievement highlights Iran's emergence as one of the top five global producers of these life-saving devices.

With only a handful of countries possessing the knowledge and expertise to manufacture hemodialysis machines, Iran joins the ranks of the United States of America, Germany, Sweden, and Japan. This recognition underscores Iran's commitment to advancing its healthcare capabilities and contributing to global healthcare solutions.

The export of these machines to Afghanistan is part of Iran's broader efforts to expand its reach in providing essential medical equipment. Moreover, Iran has also exported hemodialysis machines to other countries, such as Syria, Iraq, and Indonesia, further showcasing its growing influence in the international market.

This accomplishment is especially noteworthy as it reduces the dependency on foreign suppliers for dialysis treatment equipment, materials, and technical support. By bolstering its domestic production capacity, Iran aims to enhance cost-effectiveness and reduce the strain on foreign exchange resources required for importing these critical medical devices.

Iran's success in the production and export of hemodialysis machines signifies a significant stride towards self-sufficiency in medical technology and positions the country as a key player in the global healthcare industry.

Iranian Researchers Establish Hemodialysis Company, Localize Technology

In a bid to address the growing number of kidney-related diseases and improve the quality of life for patients, a group of Iranian researchers founded a specialized company in 2013. Focusing on hemodialysis, a critical procedure for patients with kidney malfunctions, the company embarked on a mission to develop and produce a state-of-the-art hemodialysis machine.

After extensive investment in research and development, the company successfully localized this valuable technology in Iran, marking a significant milestone in the country's healthcare sector. The achievement led to the registration of the company's own brand, solidifying Iran's position as the fifth country globally to manufacture hemodialysis machines.

Recognizing the company's dedication to innovation and quality, the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade granted a utilization license in July 2017. With this license, the company is authorized to produce up to one thousand hemodialysis machines annually, meeting the growing demand for this life-saving treatment.
