Iranian Military Advisors Martyred in Israeli Strike in Damascus

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that four of its military advisors were assassinated in an Israeli strike in the Syrian capital.

Iran (IMNA) - The advisors, along with a number of Syrian forces, were "martyred" during an attack on a three-story residential building in Damascus' Mezza neighborhood, which also houses several diplomatic missions. In a statement, the IRGC condemned the "barbaric and criminal" aggression by the Zionist regime, referring to Israel, and held their fighter jets responsible for the air raid.

Israel Continues Airstrikes on Syrian and Lebanese Military Positions, Expanding Aggression in the Region

In a series of airstrikes, Israel has been targeting military positions inside Syria, particularly those belonging to resistance fighters who have played a crucial role in supporting the Syrian army's fight against foreign-backed terrorists. The Tel Aviv regime has escalated its aggression against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip by extending airstrikes to various locations in Syria and Lebanon. These actions are part of Israel's ongoing attempts to expand its military operations across the region.

Iran, at the request of Damascus, maintains an advisory mission in Syria with the objective of assisting the war-torn country in defeating foreign-backed militants. Since 2011, these militants have been engaged in combat against the democratically-elected Syrian government.

Israeli Air Attack in Damascus Claims Lives of Three Prominent Iranian Military Advisors

In a recent development, an Israeli air attack conducted last month in a suburb of Damascus resulted in the death of Iranian General Sayyed Razi Mousavi, a highly respected adviser to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Syria. This incident follows a similar attack earlier in December, where two other IRGC military advisors, Mohammad Ali Ataee Shoorcheh and Panah Taqizadeh, were martyred in Syria.

The IRGC, in a statement, declared that the two officers were martyred amidst the ongoing brutality of the "fake and child-killing" Israeli regime in Gaza. These incidents have raised tensions between Israel and Iran, further exacerbating the already volatile situation in the region.
