Iran Enhances Drone Capabilities in Response to Potential Threats

In a meeting with commanders and staff of the drone unit of the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi-Fard, the Commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force, announced that Iran is increasing its drone capabilities to effectively counter potential threats.

Sabahi-Fard emphasized that Iran's indigenous drones have successfully diminished the aerial superiority of certain foreign nations.

In a recent statement, the top commander emphasized the significant role played by drone technology in enhancing the combat and operational capabilities of Iran's air defense. He highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Iranian Army's Air Defense Force in this area.

In a major development last December, the Iran Army's Air Defense Force welcomed numerous domestically produced Karrar drones armed with air-to-air Majid missiles.

These advanced Karrar drones, equipped with Majid missiles, possess the capability to intercept and engage any airborne objects and hostile targets. Demonstrating their effectiveness, they successfully executed operations during a large-scale drone drill conducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran Army in October.

In his remarks, Sabahi-Fard underscored the crucial role played by the Iranian nation's unwavering support in safeguarding the country's power against external threats. He highlighted how this support has consistently thwarted the malicious plans of adversaries aiming to undermine national strength.

Additionally, the top commander referenced a recent twin terrorist attack that occurred in the southeastern city of Kerman on January 3, resulting in the tragic loss of over 90 lives. Sabahi-Fard condemned the resort to terrorism as a clear display of the enemies' desperate humiliation. Such acts only serve to further expose their malicious intentions and aggression towards Iran.
