Software Issue Disrupts Petrol Stations in Iran, Efforts Underway to Restore Normal Operations

In a recent development, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company has reported disruptions in multiple petrol stations across Iran, with Tehran being particularly affected.

Iran (IMNA) - The company attributes these disruptions to a "technical problem" that has arisen due to what it describes as a conspiracy by enemies seeking to undermine the welfare and comfort of the people.

To address this issue promptly, specialized working groups have been established, tasked with resolving the problem as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, fuel supply will be facilitated through an offline system until further notice.

The statement emphasizes that experts and these specialized working groups are diligently working towards a solution, assuring that within a few hours, all stations will return to normal and the refueling process will resume its regular operation.

Iran's petrol stations association spokesperson, Reza Navaz, has confirmed that a "technical problem" is the cause of the recent disruption in gasoline and diesel supply. Experts are working swiftly to resolve the issue.

Navaz dismissed claims that the disruption was connected to plans for a gas price increase, emphasizing that there are no such plans. He further assured that there is no shortage of fuel supply. Oil Minister Javad Owji suggested the possibility of outside interference as a potential cause.

In response, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi instructed the oil minister to investigate the disruption promptly and address it appropriately. The president also urged the oil ministry to provide accurate and timely information to the public.

Iran's Civil Defense Organization has stated that it is unable to verify the claims made by the enemies. The organization is currently considering various options, including interference and hacking.

Since the disruption began, emergency response teams from Iran's Ministry of Petroleum, in collaboration with the Civil Defense Organization, have been actively addressing the issue and making necessary decisions to restore fuel supply.

It is anticipated that the problem will be resolved at some stations by the end of Monday. The organization has assured the Iranian public that the results of its investigations will be communicated in the coming days.
