Iranian President Condemns Israeli Regime's Genocide in Gaza, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi strongly criticized the Israeli regime during a joint press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Tehran on Monday. Raeisi accused the Israeli regime of committing heinous crimes against humanity and genocide in Palestine, particularly targeting children. He emphasized the urgent need to halt the ongoing bombardments in Gaza and establish a ceasefire.

Iran (IMNA) - Raeisi expressed solidarity with the oppressed yet resilient people of Gaza and stressed the importance of providing immediate aid to them. He condemned Israel's deadly war on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7 following Hamas' Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity. The relentless bombardment by the Israeli regime has resulted in the deaths of over 9,922 Palestinians, predominantly women and children.

In addition to the military assault, Israel has also imposed severe restrictions on fuel, electricity, food, and water, affecting more than two million Palestinians living in Gaza.

President Raeisi highlighted Iran's cooperation and support for any initiatives taken by Muslim, regional, and international countries to deter the Israeli regime and the United States from massacring innocent people in Gaza. He argued that the blatant genocide in Gaza clearly exposes the arrogant nature of the US and its support for the Israeli regime's actions.

In recent statement, President Raeisi highlighted the shared position of Tehran and Baghdad on the Palestinian issue. He also strongly refuted the claims made by the United States regarding their aid to Gaza and the announcement of a ceasefire in the war-torn region. The Iranian president dismissed these assertions as "sheer lies" that contradict the actions of the Americans.

President Raeisi went on to criticize the United States for supplying arms, intelligence, and financial assistance to the Zionist regime, which he accused of brutally killing the Palestinian people. He further claimed that such support from the US actually encourages the Israeli regime. Moreover, he pointed out that the US vetoed a draft resolution proposed by Brazil at the United Nations Security Council, which aimed to establish humanitarian pauses in the blockaded Palestinian territory. This, according to President Raeisi, would ultimately enable the Israeli regime to carry out more acts of violence.

Emphasizing the complicity of the US and other countries that support Israel, President Raeisi stated that they are accomplices in all the crimes committed by the Israeli regime. Furthermore, he asserted that the resistance front's ongoing battle against Israel and the defeats it has inflicted on the regime have greatly undermined its stability.
