Revitalization Efforts in Iran's Industrial Parks Bring Thousands of Production Units Back

In a recent statement, Farshad Moghimi, the acting head of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO), announced that a significant number of idle and semi-active production units have been revitalized in the country's industrial parks since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year.

Iran (IMNA) - According to Moghimi, 3,300 such units have been brought back to life, contributing to the country's industrial growth.

Moghimi shared this information during an exhibition showcasing Iran's rural products and services, which took place in Tehran on Saturday. He also revealed that an additional 670 units are currently in the process of being revived within the industrial parks across the country.

Over the past few years, numerous production units in Iran have faced financial challenges and difficulties in sourcing raw materials. Consequently, many were compelled to shut down or scale back their operations. Recognizing these issues, the Industry Ministry launched a program aimed at reviving these struggling units by addressing their key problems and obstacles.

Highlighting the government's commitment to promoting industrial development, last month Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Abbas Ali-Abadi inaugurated 20 industrial, infrastructure, and development projects across various industrial parks and zones in the country. These projects, valued at over $60 million (294.8 trillion rials), signify a significant investment in Iran's industrial sector.

The projects were launched in 11 different provinces to commemorate the national day of supporting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The projects consist of nine infrastructure projects, with a total investment of 1.88 trillion rials (approximately $3.82 million), seven industrial projects with an investment of 18.35 trillion rials (over $37.8 million), and the revitalization of four dormant industrial units with an investment of 9.24 trillion rials (over $18.9 million).

According to reports, the inauguration of these projects has resulted in the creation of direct job opportunities for 723 individuals.

These initiatives were implemented in the provinces of Kermanshah, Markazi, Zanjan, Yazd, Alborz, Lorestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Golestan, Isfahan, Qazvin, and East Azarbaijan.
