Cooperation between Baku, Tehran crucial factor for region

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan Republic has emphasized the significance of friendship and cooperation between Baku and Tehran as a crucial factor for the region.

Iran (IMNA) - During a meeting with Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash, President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts in creating transport corridors through bilateral and multilateral cooperation. He also commended Azerbaijan's role as the initiator of the 3+3 format, expressing optimism about the positive outcomes of meetings held within this framework.

President Aliyev further underlined the importance of the ceremony marking the foundation laying for a motorway bridge and border-crossing infrastructure connecting Azerbaijan and Iran near the Aghbend settlement. He described these actions as instrumental in strengthening the already amicable relations between the two countries. Moreover, he emphasized that this project holds great significance for the entire region, contributing to stability and cooperation.

Reiterating the importance of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Iran, President Aliyev acknowledged the greetings conveyed by Iranian Minister Bazrpash from President Raeisi to President Aliyev. Recognizing the deep historical and cultural ties between the nations and peoples of the region, he emphasized the need for peace in the south Caucasus.
