Leader calls for harsh punishment for perpetrators of poisoning cases

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, has labeled the purported poisoning of schoolgirls as "unforgivable and big" crime and asked authorities to investigate it seriously.

Iran (IMNA) - "If it is confirmed that the students were poisoned, the malefactors must receive harsh punishment. They will not be subjected to amnesty," the Leader emphasized.

The remarks were delivered by Ayatollah Khamenei on Monday while he was celebrating Iran's national Arbor Day by planting trees.

"Officials should take the poisoning of students seriously. This is a serious and inexcusable crime," the Leader noted.
