Iran pioneer among UNESCO member states

The first representative office of Iran's National Commission for UNESCO has been inaugurated in Yazd.

Iran (IMNA) – The office has been launched with the purpose of identifying figures, pursuing cultural-artistic, and civilization capacities of Yazd province to be registered and introduced on the world stage, creating harmony and communication between various organizations and activities in cultural, artistic, and educational fields.

"The preservation of cultural heritage is one of the main goals of UNESCO; among the UNESCO member states, Iran has enjoyed pioneering in scientific, cultural, and educational fields regarding its important and valuable capacities; so, it can pursuit many interests in UNESCO," Hojatollah Ayubi, the secretary general of Iran's National Commission for UNESCO , said.

Emphasizing on taking advantage of UNESCO toward fulfilling the country's purposes to identify and introduce Iran's capabilities regarding scientific, cultural, and educational fields, he added, "The potential cultural and civilization capacities of Yazd province should be introduced to the world with UNESCO's contribution."
