Aerial firefighting system unveiled in Isfahan

The aerial firefighting system was unveiled in Shahin Shahr, Isfahan, with the presence of the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Isfahan (IMNA) – The first aerial firefighting system has been designed and built by the domestic experts to extinguish wide fire by using jet aircrafts.

This system was designed and built with the fire sprinkler system and compressed air foam and has been installed on the jet aircrafts. "This system was designed and built in the aerospace industry department of the defense ministry and it is monopolized by the Islamic republic of Iran," Hatami, the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran said.

"In this advanced system, A large amount of water are stored and carried in the pressurized reservoirs in such a way that it doesn’t cause any unwanted effects such as fluid turbulence and weight change on the flight operations of the aircraft and during the rapid discharge; also, the aircraft's stability is maintained during and after the rapid diffusion," Hatami said.   

"This system can be installed on various and heavy aircrafts, they can be used to protect the natural resources and the environment of the country when there is a fire in all geographical regions and various climate conditions of the country," he said. So far, 16 firefighting aircraft stations have been launched in the country, and about three to five firefighting jets will be added to these facilities.
