Bone-dry Zayandehrood River damaged Isfahan identity

Assistant professor of Isfahan University of Art said, "The demolition of historical houses and the dry riverbed of the Zayandehrood has seriously damaged the reputation of Isfahan identity and the originality of this historical city.

Isfahan (IMNA) - "When it comes to people's concerns about the identity of the city of Isfahan, it means the dried out Zayandeh Roud, which has undermined the real identity of the city," Behnam Pedram, associate professor of the University of Art in Isfahan emphasized.  he added, "The city of Isfahan has had the richest urban identity; I mean the mother of identities which is the Zayandehrood River."

Pedram stressed that people in the city should be willing to maintain the identity of Isfahan. In this regard, awareness of the importance of the originality of Isfahan should be created for all social classes not only the educated one. The more we prevent the destruction of the city's historical textures, the better we preserve our city's identity. Emphasizing the importance of the revitalization of the Zayandehrood River, this associate professor of the University of Art in Isfahan said: "By any measure, the Zayandehrood River should be revitalized as the real sign of Isfahan identity."
