We should revitalize the Zayanderood River

“If the destruction process of Gavkhuni lagoon continues, it will endamage neighboring provinces. We should do our best to keep this lagoon alive; the Zayanderood river cannot be removed from Isfahan,” the director general of Isfahan environmental protection organization said.

Isfahan (IMNA)_ “ Isfahan has a better condition than other cities in terms of urban waste management, but it seems that the facts about the environmental training must be released as well, so that people will be sensitive to this issue and also there will be no responsibilities upon the authorities,” Seyed Rahman Daniali stated.

Stating that the plan of developing the cultural center for environmental activities which proposed 10 years ago, but it has not fulfilled so far, the director general of Isfahan environmental protection agency said, “I think it is better that an environmental education center will be created in the form of the same cultural center for environmental activities, since Isfahan is the Iran's cradle of culture and civilization.

Also I have to say that environmental culturalization is a serious need in the city. Isfahan has the scientific potential in this field. If the destruction process of Gavkhuni lagoon continues, it will endamage neighboring provinces. We should do our best to keep this lagoon alive; the Zayanderood river cannot be removed from this city,” he said.

“The studies have been conducted in order to revitalize the Zayanderood River, and 70 wells are being dug by Isfahan Water and Wastewater Company to supply drinking water, but serious efforts must be made in this field to survive the Zayanderood,” Daniali noted.
