‘Charisma of Iran’ draws Ukrainian attention

The first exhibition of Persian art of 12th to 19th centuries titled ‘Charisma of Iran’ opened at Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko National Museum of Arts, Kiev.

Organized by Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko National Museum of Arts, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, National Museum of the History of Ukraine, the exhibition which is from museum collections of Ukraine will run through January 12, IRNA reported.

Iranian official in charge of public diplomacy of Iran’s Embassy Israfil Amiri said that the exhibition features 70 Iranian artworks belonging to the period from 12th to 19th centuries.

Iranian diplomat added that the period had the most cultural and historical attractions for the world.

Hanna Rudyk, deputy director and a curator of Islamic arts at the Bohdan and Varvara Khanenko National Museum of Arts said that Iran enjoys one if the oldest Asian civilizations and greatly influenced its neighboring countries.

Iran’s culture and civilization is of high attraction to Ukrainians and its role in Ukraine’s culture made the Asian countries officials to hold such cultural exhibitions, Rudyk highlighted.

She expressed her hope that the exhibition paves the way for inter-museum cooperation between the countries.

Both countries are negotiating to hold an Ukrainian exhibition in Iran in near future, Amiri added.
