Naghsh-e Jahan Square (Image of the World) with 560 meters long and 160 meters wide is a masterpiece built at the beginning of the 17th century by Shah Abbas I.

Iran (IMNA) - The square which is the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites is surrounded by a series of two-storied buildings with arcade shapes. The arcades on all sides of the square are the home of hundreds of traditional shops.

The square is known for embracing the Imam Mosque (Masjed-e Imam), the Mosque of Sheykh Lotfollah, the magnificent Bazaar of Qaysariyeh and the grand palace of Ali Qapu, all adorned with a profusion of enameled ceramic tiles and paintings. The square used to be the hub of the Safavid capital’s economy, culture, religion, social power, politics, and government.
