Iran's infection rate still high

The coronavirus pandemic caused by the new respiratory virus‌‌‌‌‌‌ has killed over 4,510,135 people and infected 216,868,264 worldwide; Coronavirus cases continue to surge in Iran with hospitals overwhelmed with the high number of COVID-19 patients.

Iran (IMNA) - Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education announced that 581 more Iranians have lost their lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours taking the country’s tally of total deaths to 106482.

35516 new coronavirus infections were detected over the past 24 hours, some 3,614 of whom have been hospitalized.

There have been nearly 4,926,624 confirmed cases of coronavirus so far in Iran, 4,146,742 of whom cured or discharged from the hospitals.

The all-out-efforts of Iranian officials have focused on taking measures to curb the outbreak and prevent further spread.

According to Worldometers, total cases of COVID-19 worldwide have surpassed 216 million and the global deaths from the virus have also surged at least 4.5 million; however, more than 193 million people have recovered.
