Iran, Uzbekistan to cooperate on new technologies

Pointing to the great achievements that Iranian knowledge-based companies have made in various areas, an Iranian official has expressed Iran’s readiness to develop cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of new technologies,

Iran (IMNA) -Mahdi Qalenoei, director of the International Interaction Centre of the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, called Uzbekistan as a neighboring major economic center during the joint meeting of Iranian and Uzbek businessmen and officials in Tashkent.
Highlighting Iran’s efforts to strengthen the business ties with Uzbekistan, Qalenoei said, "Considering the need for innovation in science, the global technological achievements, the regional and international environmental problems, the necessity of optimizing energy consumption, the need for implication of cognitive sciences, and the importance of increasing productivity and economic competitiveness, Iran and Uzbekistan can develop relations in the domain of new technologies."

Mahdi Qalenoei  also expressed his hope that academic relations between the two countries would pick up the speed of successes in new technologies dimensions such as biotechnology, aerospace science, nanotechnology, cognitive sciences, and new source of energies.

In recent years, some valuable agreements have been concluded between Iran and Uzbekistan that open new pages of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Iran and Uzbekistan have many common interests in regional, international and bilateral dimensions. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries could lead to the scientific and technological development of Iran and Uzbekistan.
