Hamedan; new sister of Isfahan

The head of Economic, Tourism and Investment Commission at the Islamic city council of Isfahan said, "the sister city agreement of two historic cities of Isfahan and Hamedan is a blessed event and we hope that it strengthens the ties of twin cities in all aspects of sustainable development."

Iran (IMNA) - "It is hoped that the sister city agreement between Hamedan and Isfahan will be a successful model for other cities in the country and that urban development will be shaped by communication, ideas and shared experiences", Nassir Mellat said at the conference on the role of international events in the development of tourism industry in Hamedan.

Emphasizing that the lack of integrated and coherent management to exploit the hidden capacities of cities and the lack of a comprehensive plan is one of the major challenges for tourism development, Mellat said, "Isfahan's officials have not set their tourism promotion plans only on the basis of holding events but the actual results."

"Promoting the quality of urban environment is one our goal that will be achieved through economic and urban development; Tabriz and Hamedan could provide us with successful experiences in this regard," he continued.

"We need to believe that one of our main instruments for developing and assuring cities value is the attention to tourism capacity as the industry is as sensitive at the same time productive one," Mellat said.
