Quake Hits Khuzestan in Southwest Iran

Iran's seismology center reports a 5.7 magnitude earthquake that has hit a town, 36 km from Haftkel in Khuzestan province causing structural damage.

Iran (IMNA) - The depth of the quake was 17 kilometers. The tremors lasted for seconds and felt in various parts of Iran as well as neighbouring countries; several aftershocks were also reported in the earthquake-stricken areas.

Four Iranians so far have been reported injured. Rescue and relief teams have been dispatched to the surrounding rural areas.
