Iran (IMNA) - Saying that handmade carpet is a forgotten art, and not entitled to any government priorities, Ali Shahbazi continued, "The reason behind neglecting carpet related issues is the priorities themselves , so the problems of weavers, manufacturers and sellers are always unsettled."

"One of the best solutions to recoil from the governmental economy is to make benefit of the capacity in the handmade carpet sector;100  percent of the carpets are produced in the private sector. Unfortunately our economy is state-owned and the carpet industry do no receive any attention from officials.

"The livestock sector of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad does not take serious measures for breeding practices in sheep farming in order to produce high quality raw material of carpet manufacturing. The cattle breeding industry has now been reformed by the Agricultural Jihad, but the same thing has not happened for sheep farming; certainly the output of measures lead to the boom in the handmade carpet industry," Shahbazi added.
