Solving Iran's water problem lies in saving

"According to the international formulas, the water issue in Iran can be resolved with 30% savings," the head of the National Center for Strategic Studies of Agriculture and Water use of Iran's Chamber of Commerce said.

Isfahan (IMNA) – Considering the reviving and restoring of water resources as the main mission of the current generation, Mohammad Hossein Shariatmadar said, "The 30% saving of water consumption is possible through improving the water efficiency, reducing waste, recycling water, and virtual water trade."

Saying that the agreements of recovering and balancing the underground water, privatization of water industry, and also the cooperation of Iran's chamber and ministry of energy for water economy have been signed, he noted, "The agreement of creating haloculture foundation was concluded with the minister of agriculture Jihad, and the first pilot of cropping pattern has been signed in Qom province."

"The agreement regarding organizing the National Water Dialogue, as well as codifying the recovery strategy, and restoring the resources during 10+2 years was concluded between Iran's chamber and parliament research center with the cooperation of related ministries," he added.

Pointing to the goals of implementing the land reform Act in 1961 and considering the eliminating territorial feudalism, agrarianism, and developing the agriculture as the purposes of this act, he continued, "This act was successful to reach the first goal that is eliminating feudalism, but the current challenges of the country are due to the failure of law enforcement in the second goal."
