Isfahan (IMNA) – "The water crisis of the Zayande-Roud River is the result of the responsible organizations' failure to perform their legal duties, the lack of effective management regarding the water consumption, and also the violations carried out by the government," Fathollah Moein said.
Saying that the Zayandeh-Rood River belongs to Isfahan forever, he added, "Unfortunately, unauthorized water offtakes and the lack of proper management have caused the long-term dryness of the vital lifeline of Isfahan. Isfahan city council members and the mayor of Isfahan have had two meetings with the vice-president to follow up and resolve some of the problems related to the Zayande-Rood River".
Referring to the holding of the meetings with the energy minister and minister of agriculture jihad, regarding the water issues and the farmers' problems respectively, he hoped that the continuous follow-ups of the responsible authorities will be effective, and water will flow in the Zayande-Rood River again."
