German Food and Agriculture representative office launched in Iran

The representative office of German agricultural and food industries in the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched to improve the status of food and agriculture industry of our country with the help of German experts.

Isfahan (IMNA) _ Regarding the conclusion of memorandum of understanding between German Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad of Iran in 2016, a joint project was launched in cooperation with the German Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the German Agricultural Association and the German Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives. The aims of this memorandum of understanding is to increase the domain of business and bilateral technology cooperation.

"One of the main goals of this project is the need assessment of Iranian market and establishing a platform to make a connection between the two,” said Alireza Ahmadi, the representative of the German agricultural and food industries in Islamic Republic of Iran. “Iranian companies who are interested to receive required information to meet their technological needs and build a connection with Germany, can use the facilities provided in this agency. Moreover, training workshops in the form of exhibitions and events, will be supported by the agency," He continued.

Referring to the situation of the agricultural industry in Germany, Ahmadi said that most industries in Germany including the agricultural sectors avoid following the common traditional methods, and in fact, they have entered the technology into the industry in order to be more productive. "Therefore, it is obvious that we can receive the tangible support of Germany to develop the agricultural sector technologically. However, due to the climatic and geographical conditions, Iran should pay special attention to the area of technology transfer, and the use of appropriate technologies adapted to the conditions of Iran," He added.

"Given the fact that most German companies have an international market approach, and try to produce, export and provide services for the global market, we should also provide suitable fields of cooperation for German experts to invest in our country as well," Ahmadi said. Pointing out that the agricultural industry undoubtedly needs to modernize and improve its level of productivity, the representative of the German agricultural and food industries added:" developing in line with modern technology needs “knowledge transfer"; of course, modern-style companies which are active in Iran's agricultural industry aren’t also few, but the fundamental change in this industry requires a coherent and comprehensive plan of action of all sectors involved in this industry, whether government-owned corporation or private limited company.

The representative office of the German agricultural and food industry has initiated its activity at the Germany-Iran Chamber of Commerce center.
