Shahnameh is a rich source of storytelling for children

Referring Shahnameh of Ferdowsi as a rich source for storytelling, Mostafa Rahmandoost, said: "in addition to strengthening the language and linking people with the story of their ancestors, Shahnameh is a good book for parents who want to familiarize their children with books and the habit of reading".

Isfahan (IMNA) - A commemoration ceremony for Hakim Abolqasem Ferdowsi was held by the efforts of the cultural and art centers of Valfajr-e Ashkhabad and the Allameh Dehkhoda cultural center. During the ceremony, Mostafa Rahmandoost said, "This Iranian poet kept the Persian language alive at the worst time of the history."

“In the worst circumstances in which the Persian language was at risk of extinction, Ferdowsi began rendering the Shahnameh in verse which encompass all aspects of life such as sadness, joy, forgiveness, and love. However, the considerable fact is that how much are we as Iranians influenced by the literature of our literary figures of the country," He added. Mentioning that Abolqasem Ferdowsi has a great value for the Tajik people, Rahmandoost said, “All towns in Tajikistan are named by Iranian poets such as Hafez, Saadi and Ferdowsi. ’’

He said that preserving the poetry of the most famous Iranian poets by Tajik people was far beyond his expectations. "People of Tajikistan know Ferdowsi and value him so much which was not unexpected for me. This Iranian poet is holy among them," he expressed. "The best way to raise the level of reading in the country is to read the poetry and stories from the birth of children so that the habit of reading books and caring for this subject can be internalized,” Rahmandoost added.
