Isfahan; the skating capital of Iran

Isfahan (IMNA) _ Hasan Maleki, the chairman of the skating board of Isfahan province, said: "The skating board of Isfahan province is the best board in Iran and is ranked first in the country. For the first time in Iran's skating history, Taraneh Ahmadi and Laya Arabi from Isfahan won the first world medal so, Isfahan is called the skating capital of Iran.

He continued: "due to the good cooperation and interaction with the general department of sports and youth, as well as the great support provided by the sport deputy of the Cultural-Recreational Organization of Isfahan Municipality, we are trying to provide the required infrastructure for this popular sport of Isfahan youth better than what was before and make a good progress in the construction and rehabilitation of the skating.

Maleki said: "hopefully, with the help of the sport deputy of the cultural-recreational organization of Isfahan municipality, we will equip a skating track to be able to host the national and international competitions and contribute in the sport tourism."

Referring to the world competitions held in Netherland in August, he added: "We will host the Free Style Competitions in Najafabad next week and will try our best to properly host this course of competitions. It’s worth mentioning that Isfahan Province also activates in seven other branches of skating beside the Free Style."

He continued: "on April 27 we will hold the clean transportation conference which will be held with the cooperation of the traffic deputy of the municipality of Isfahan; the skate runners will skate from Shahrestan Bridge to Naqsh-e Jahan Square. By executing such programs, we hope to develop this popular sport."
