Iranian javelin thrower grabs gold medal in UAE Para Games

Iranian javelin thrower Mahmoud Ahmadi Baloutaki bagged a gold medal in the 3rd Asian Youth Para Games which is underway in Dubai, UAE.

After defeating rivals in F56 category, Baloutaki ranked first, IRNA reported.

The Iranian squad with 114 athletes participated in 7 sport fields.

The 2017 Asian Youth Para Games will continue in the UAE until December 14.

The javelin throw is a track and field event where the javelin, a spear about 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) in length, is thrown. The javelin thrower gains momentum by running within a predetermined area. Javelin throwing is an event of both the men's decathlon and the women's heptathlon.
