Nomad tours to be held for foreign tourists

Deputy head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Iran said that the nomad tourism is to be established for foreign tourists from Khuzestan to Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Province, both in southwestern Iran.

Heydar Sadeqi said, “Watching Nomads’ migration is among the most important tourist attractions.”

Sadeqi said, “The tourists will stay and travel with the Bakhtiari nomads for seven days.”

He added that the tourists will be insured and a Farsi-English interpreter will accompany them.

He said that the tour will begin in mid-March 2018.

The Bakhtiari nomads are a southwestern Iranian Lur tribe. The Bakhtiaris mainly inhabit Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari and eastern Lorestan, Khuzestan, and Isfahan Provinces. A small percentage of Bakhtiari people are still living a nomadic life, migrating between summer highlands and winter lowlands.
