$2 m allocated to preserve Navajan Natural Park

As much as $2 million will be spent annually for preserving and developing Navajan natural park, Najvan Director of Development, Hasan Shafiee, said.

In statements to IMNA, Shafiee said: we have been trying to preserve the old shape of the green area of Navajan, something similar to what has been done for preserving flora on the blanks of Zayandeh-Rood, the river flows inside Isfahan.

“Isfahan municipality and its Islamic city council will do their best to preserve the greenery and old gardens of Navajan and that is why it has been decided as much as $2 million to be spent annually”, he said.

Referring to different types of irrigation in the area, he said: at present, two types of irrigations are being used in Navajan green area including drip irrigation for volumetric development and flood irrigation for groves. 

Similarly, an irrigation system project is underway in the area which covers 14 kms of pipe laying along with setting up two tanks of 2000 cubic meter (CBM) and three tanks of 1000 CBM for water storage, he told IMNA.   

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said: fortunately, drought has caused slight damage in the area but we would like asking all the citizens to consider this natural resort as their home, treat it friendly and try to preserve it clean and healthy.

Navajan Natural Park spans 1.2 thousand hectares, of which 370 hectares belong to Isfahan municipality and the rest is either owned by gardeners or private sector.

The visitors and citizens look at Navajan as a natural resort and respiratory lungs of the city.
