Environment serves as global solidarity

Isfahan’s elected mayor said: polluted environment endangers the whole world and humanity, so we strongly hope to cooperate with one another to hold thinking rooms for the environment- and accordingly solve the problem with Isfahan’s Zayandeh-Roud River.

IMNA quotes Ghodratollah Nowrouzi at his meeting with presidents of environmental NGOs and some environmentalists of Isfahan: I do consider myself belonging to your group because of my enduring years of experience at writing about human rights.

He continued: I am fully determined in all environmental domains and believe that solving the environmental problems will lead us through best results in other relevant fields such as attracting tourists.

Pointing to Zayandeh-Roud as the most crucial environmental matter in Isfahan, Nowrouzi expressed: not only will be Isfahan’s environment meaningless without Zayandeh-Roud, but also its cultural heritage and tourism will be out of use. “So, the river needs to be revived regardless of ethnical interests”, he suggested.

The authority then called on all the environmentalists to take steps in this regard overlooking their personal, political preferences and work just like people with humanitarian concerns. “Isfahan urban management assures to widely support them so as to provide people of Isfahan with public benefits and human rights”, he pledged.
