Saeid Ebrahimi in an interview with IMNA reporter declared that according to the previous schedules, 30 theses of doctoral and M.A. are being financially supported each year.
“Some students, however sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to be provided with data, pictures and maps only, after being evaluated”, he added.
Ebrahimi then reminded: Last year, 30 graduate theses were supported financially, and the municipality has tied MoUs for 70 other theses.
He also confirmed that all universities validate the agreements and MoUs of the municipality, all being considered as marks and credits for students.
He declared: the theses reach the operation stages in case of having accepted subject and quality. Theses on technical topics have been operated so far.
“Some students will even be recruited in municipal organs after their capabilities are proved”, “Some of them will be contractually recruited”, he explained.
Some projects have so far been operated such as Najvan Watermill and investigation of the urban highway network. But we cannot expect a graduate theses to lead to a comprehensive project, although they serve as a fine start to explain urban issues.
