The immediate consequence of drought in Isfahan was a fall in crop production, due to inadequate and poorly distributed rainfall. Farmers are in danger of losing money as drought destroys their crops.

Iran (IMNA) - For Isfahani farmers, drought is a major source of concern as their livelihoods depend on the water. Farmers who live in east of Isfahan experience higher levels of concern regarding drought as it has led to loss of employment; also family members are getting off-farm work to supplement income lost to drought in this region.

It has been two weeks that Isfahani farmers are feeling delighted as the Zayanderoud River has backed to their region so they can start farming again; however, the river is an instant guest and farmers are doomed to only enjoy its presence for a short time.

God Bless Farmers
