Iran witnesses rise in trips

The tourism deputy of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism organization announced that in the first 7 months of the year, 4,704,509 departure travels in comparison to 4,739,413 arrival trips have been registered; this statistics indicate the balance of 34,904 positive trips.

Isfahan (IMNA) – Last year, a balance of -2,275,623 trips have been registered for 3,006,558 arrival against 5,282,181 departure travels. Also, in the first seven months in 2016, there were 3,120,378 arrival trips in comparison to 4,320,949 departure ones; in that period of time the travel balance of the country was -1,200,571.

After 35 years, the tourism balance of the country became positive in 2014 for the first time. During that time, for 1,417,000 people left the country, 1,497,000 people came to Iran; this figures showed that arrival journeys are more than departure ones for about 80,000.

One of the reasons of positive tourism balance of the country is the rise in exchange rate and the low costs of traveling to Iran.
