Isfahan; pilot of installing intelligent underground waste storage

"Intelligent underground waste storages have been installed in Isfahan," the CEO of waste management organization of Isfahan municipality said.

Iran (IMNA) – "The first intelligent underground waste storage was installed and used by citizens as a pilot in the 4th district of the city, with the cost of 300 million Rials," Ali Dehnavi said.

Pointing to the details of these storages, he added, "these storages include two 500-liter waste bins, that operate intelligently and by optical sensors; when waste is entered the storage, its lid will be opened with the sensor detection, but when the storage is filled up, the embedded sensors in the bin will give the order of finishing capacity, then the lid of the storage won't open anymore."

"As the title shows, underground storages have been designed to be installed beneath the ground; nobody can pull out waste from the storage, but they can only be taken out through mechanized vehicles," he noted about the function of the storages.

"Expanding the plan of deploying these storages throughout the various areas of Isfahan is one of the important purposes of the waste management organization. This project will be implemented in other areas of the city by the end of the year and early next year," he also said.
