Two historical vats discovered in Rey County

"According to the preliminary investigations, there's a significant probability that the two discovered vats in Rey County, date back to the Seljuk era," the Director General of Tehran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization said.

Iran (IMAN) - "During the construction process in this street, two vats and remains of a monument which is believed to be an ab anbar (water reservoir) were found. The report of this discovery was presented to Tehran's Cultural Heritage General Office," he added. "These two vats used to be containers to store food; rumours about the existence of gold coins and valuable objects in these two vats are completely denied," he noted.

Saying that the order of stopping construction operations has been issued, he continued, "Currently, experts of Cultural Heritage Organization are investigating this issue, and new aspects of these two discovered vats and the monument will be achieved soon, and cultural heritage enthusiasts will be informed about this matter."
