Archeological speculations continued in Dehloran County

Archeological speculations project in the area of "Meymeh 4" in the basin of Meymeh storage dam in Dehloran County is currently underway to make sure of the existence of ancient layers in this area; discovering historical layers dating back to the Sassanid era and finding an ancient hill on the path of the Sarab Murt River indicates the oldness of this region.

Iran (IMNA) – "The purpose of running this project is investigating the existing cultural-historical layers and monuments discovered in the area," the director of archeological board said."Considering the importance of these historical sites that probably dating back to the Paleolithic, historical and also Islamic eras, there is a need to conduct more studies in order to provide required documentation and identify the absolute dating methods," Behzad faryadian noted.

Considering this scientific activity in line with implementing an agreement between the Cultural Heritage Organization and the Ministry of Energy, he added, "we are conducting more archeological studies by establishing three scientific teams in Meymeh dam."

Meymeh storage dam in Dehloran county, Ilam province, which is located on the big river of Meymeh, is one of the biggest and most important national dams of the country that is being constructed in order to prevent the water loss and support the irrigation of downstream farms in Dehloran plain.
