Medical waste incineration plant constructed in Isfahan

"The call for mega-project of constructing medical waste incineration for the first time in Isfahan will be announced in the next three weeks," the CEO of waste management organization of Isfahan municipality said.

Isfahan (IMNA) – "15 to 16 tons of infectious and medical waste is collected and buried daily in Isfahan. Therefore, the necessary arrangements have been made with Environmental Protection Agency and the University of Medical Science to implement the mega-project of constructing medical waste incineration plant in this metropolis," Ali Dehnavi said.

Saying that about one thousand ordinary waste is collected throughout the city and processed in an organic fertilizer plant, he noted, "About 15 to 20 tons of this waste are valuable items that could be separated and returned to the production cycle in the factory."

"The rest of the waste can be divided into two parts; the first part are organic materials such as nutrients, vegetable and fruit waste for about 600 tons per day, that can be used to produce fertilizer and the other category that includes 400 tons of all types of plastics and disposable containers which are destined to be buried," he continued.

"Concerning this fact that plastic products are made from petroleum products, and can be recycled through pyrolysis process into their original materials; therefore, we have negotiated with two investors regarding technical knowledge, and we have reached the conclusion that we can produce petroleum products by recycling these 400 tons waste," he also said.
