3,000 Kashan-based manuscripts available in documentation centers of Iran

"More than 3,000 manuscripts of Kashani citizens are available in libraries and documentation centers of the country," the governor of Kashan said.

Isfahan (IMNA) – "Scientific research centers, and also Kashani scholars should pay attention to reviving the manuscripts," Ali Akbar Mortezaee said. Saying that the 40th anniversary of Islamic Revolution is a cultural revolution, he continued, "If culture is the column of Islamic revolution, books are undoubtedly the foundation of our culture."

Pointing to the great difference of book-reading situation in terms of quantity and quality, before and after the victory of Islamic Revolution, he added, "We are the witnesses of a great difference; no such book exhibition has been held in Kashan before."

"The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has put the holding of the annual provincial book fair on the agenda," he added. "The greatness of the cultural area of Kashan in the fields of history, culture, and art in the recent millenniums is so great that unfortunately it has been ignored in some ways and has not receive attention so far," he noted.

"This year, great national and regional events regarding book reading have been held in this county; choosing Kashan as the fourth capital of book indicates the fact," he also said.
