Iran refutes Germany's ban on Mahan Air

Iran has refuted media reports that indicates Germany's decision to ban Mahan Air's flights in and out of the country.

Isfahan (IMNA) - Reza Jafarzadeh, the spokesman for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO), on Sunday rejected a claim by Bild newspaper that reported Berlin intention to ban the country’s Mahan Air flights.

"Iran's Mahan Air has been conducting flights to Germany for nearly 15 years, and a six-month contract for winter flights with Germany is still creditworthy." Jafarzadeh added. Every week, Mahan schedules 6 flights between Tehran and Germany, four flights of which from Duesseldorf and two more from Munich. Mahan Air has been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department in October 2011.

Furthermore , some aviation companies are banned to make any cooperative relationship with Mahan Air. It is northworthy to mention that Mahan Air is not sanctioned by the European Union and it currently carries out flights to many destinations in the  world.
