Isfahan (IMNA) - "Good measures have been taken so far to attract more foreign tourists to Iran, particularly in Fars and Isfahan provinces that capture the historical and cultural flavor of Iran, " Seyyed Hemayat Mirzadeh, head of the Iranian Parliament’s committee on Tourism Commission said.
“Iran's cultural and historical heritages are just our permanent oil wells. They are capable of attracting tourists from all around the world. Iran enjoys a wide variety of unique handicrafts and arts that make people to be interested in them. We should take advantage of the hidden capacities and introduce the unique heritages in an international level,” he continued.
Mirzadeh also emphasized that there are many ancient Persian relics and historical objects that has been kept in foreign museums and research centers for many years; they should be returned to the country.
“Fortunately, Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) has taken some practical steps to return them. Such efforts are admirable and should be continued,” he added.
According to official reports the number of foreign visitors arrived in Iran has increased by 38 percent during the first four months of the Persian year.
