500 million budget allocated for research on air pollution

Saying that 500 million budget has been considered to perform research on air pollution in Isfahan, vice-president of the Islamic city council of Isfahan said, "The results of this research will be very effective in reducing Isfahan's pollutants."

Isfahan (IMNA) – "We are trying to determine the share of each responsible organization in producing pollutants in order to put better planning on the agenda based on the obtained information," Alireza Nasr Isfahani said.

"There are 3,700 hectares green space areas in Isfahan that are of great importance due to the urban appearance, and their significant role in reducing the pollutants. Isfahan municipality tries to preserve and maintain this divine source in the current drought situation of Isfahan," he added.

"In the past, the average lifespan of a bus was three years, and the municipality was in a good financial condition, but currently the average lifespan of a bus is six years; this will increase the environmental pollutant. The municipality is continuously pursuing the technical inspection of its vehicle fleet," he noted.

Pointing to installing the air quality monitoring stations in Isfahan by the municipality, he said, "The data collected form this stations will help significantly to plan the type and time of traffic, prioritizing to prevent the air pollution in the susceptible  areas in order to provide a more qualified life conditions for citizens."
