Pointing to using wastewater to irrigate the green space, a horticulture expert said, "We can save the lives of people and plants during the current water shortage crisis with a correct water management."

Isfahan (IMNA) - Pointing to using wastewater for green space, Hamidreza Aslani said, "Wastewater should only be used to irrigate the green space of the countryside, since the water treatment operations of available wastewater in our country pass only one phase, that don’t have the necessary standard conditions to use inside the city."

Emphasizing on this issue that wastewater should be tested and studied in terms of microorganism, he noted, "Undoubtedly, if wastewater includes the smallest heavy metals or microorganism, and be used for the agricultural lands, it will threatens the health of soil and plants."

"Recently, studies have started in the parks organization regarding the use of wastewater in the green space, that according to this plan, it can be determined which substances are absorbed in soil," he continued.

"The wastewater can be used to irrigate the green space only when it is not contaminated with pollutants and microorganisms," he noted.
