Muharram rituals in museum of decorative Arts

The intangible artworks of the ritual ceremonies along with the pictures and works which are rarely seen, have been displayed in an exhibition under the title of "the rituals of Muharram" in the museum of the Decorate Arts.

Isfahan (IMNA) - "In the opening ceremony of this exhibition, miniature painting of "Tarigh-e Hossein", from the master Reza Badrossama, and a hand engraving silverware with the name of Abbas's battle, the masterpiece of Hossein Saee were unveiled," the head of the Decorative Arts Museums said regarding Muharram rituals exhibition in this museum.

"The displayed artworks in this exhibition include national registered plaques in the intangible works list from the ritual ceremonies of the province, old manuscripts related to Habib Abad's Ta'ziyeh, and metal, miniature, and Qalamkar artworks from other artists like Ebad, Raee, Esmaeel Pour, Bazr Afshan, Jafari, and etc.," Raheleh Yusefian said.

"The purpose of holding this exhibition is preserving the Ashura culture and the works related to this ritual. Undoubtedly, Ashura is the main source of the exquisite taste in art; mourning tents are the example of this love. Ta'ziyeh is also a kind of special performance art in Iran which comes from this artistic taste," she added.
