Iran's Oscar nominee to compete in Slemani International Film Festival

Iran's Vahid Jalilvand's psychological drama "No Date, No Signature" will compete in the main competition section of “World Cinema” of 3rd edition of Slemani International Film Festival, scheduled for October 10-16 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan.

Iran has selected the film, which has so far won several prestigious awards in different international film festivals, as its submission for the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film in the Oscars 2019.

The film is slated to compete for winning the “Golden Pine” award with several films from Japan, Turkey, France, Germany, Lebanon, Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Australia and Iran. "No Signature, No Date" will be screened in the “Cinema City” hall in Sulaymaniyah. The film will be screened in the “Cinema City” hall in Sulaymaniyah. Several acclaimed Iranian artists including Hediyeh Tehrani, Amir Aghaee and Navid Mohammadzadeh are cast of the film.

The film has received many international awards over the past year including Best Director Award for Jalilvand and Best Actor Award for Mohammadzadeh at the Venice Film Festival; Best Film Award at the Brussels International Film Festival; and Best Director Award at Russia’s Mirror International Film Festival, Audience Award and Best Actor Award at the 18th Las Palmas de Gran Canaria International Film Festival in Spain; and Grand Prize of 2017 Chicago International Film Festival, etc.
