Water recirculation method to revive Zayande-rood River

The governor general of Isfahan said that the total water needed for continuous flow of the Zayande-Rood River in Isfahan is 60 million cubic meters during a year, which would be reduced to around 30 million cubic meters by using the recirculation system.

Isfahan (IMNA) - "The recent droughts and the poor environmental conditions around the world indicate that if the countries don’t look for a good management and the optimal use of water with the limited resources, they will face many problems in the near future," Mohsen Mehralizadeh said.

Pointing to forming the water task force, the governor general of Isfahan said, "The enactments of the cabinet of ministers to form a national task force for adapting to water shortage has been presented on March 3, and the first meeting of this task force was held on March 14 to investigate the Isfahan governor general's proposal."

Saying that the main responsibility of this taskforce is changing the patterns of water consumption, he added, "In the reviving plan of ZayandehRood River, replacing high water demand farming, establishing greenhouses and creating alternative industries and new cultivation methods, improving the quality of waste water, collecting wastewater, and providing it for farmers have been addressed and managed."

Pointing to three issues of proving water supplies, proper use of water in agricultural and industrial sections, domestic consumption, and also organizing the fair share of consumption in different areas based on the water rights, he said, "Paying attention to these three issues simultaneously can help  revive the Zayndeh-Rood River."
