Isfahan trees benefit of high tech with digital ID tags

Announcing the replacing of urban grasses with drought tolerant lawn grasses in 217 thousand square meters of the green space of Isfahan, the CEO of the parks and green space organization of Isfahan municipality said, "Resistant trees like evergreen oak and celtis australis will be the replacement of the dead trees, since these trees need less water."

Isfahan (IMNA) - Explaining the activities that parks and green space organization of Isfahan has taken regarding the water crisis and drought, Forough Moertezaeenejad said, "making forward-looking predictions about water resources shortage, the new instructions of reforming the irrigation of the urban trees and shrubs was delivered to the contractors of the green space maintenance. The training programs were also held this April for different skill levels of laborers and experts with the purpose of optimal irrigation and preventing water loss."

Pointing to the training of five thousand citizens during the summer days under various topics such as; water consumption, maintenance and nutrition of the special and indoor plants, he said, "holding different training courses and classes in the cultural centers of the municipality has planned in this regard." Saying that preserving the green space and the existing trees is one of the priorities of this organization, she noted, "Developing the green space by using plant species resistant to water shortage is carried out as the pilot."

Referring to the three million trees throughout the city, Moertezaeenejad said, " installing digital tree signs to identify and manage urban trees are among the programs of this organization to aware ourselves about  their last conditions and  also the probable damages ."
