Zayande-Rood River dried again

Zayande-Rood River that has been flown since 10 days ago with the purpose of irrigating the gardens and recharge the agricultural water wells of the west of Isfahan to the areas around Mobarakeh County, was cut off since yesterday; this river is again dried.

Isfahan (IMNA) – Saying that the volumetric flow rate of water in Zayande-Rood dam has increased 10 days ago in order to irrigate the gardens and recharge the agricultural water wells of the west of Isfahan, Alireza Sharifi, the head of Mobarakeh Water Resources Department said, "The volumetric flow rate of water in Zaynde-Rood dam has increased since August 7 with the volume of 30 million cubic meters from Zayande-Rood dam to Nekoo-Abad dam."

Saying that the gardens of the 5 counties in the west of Isfahan have an area over 17 thousands hectares, he said, "The purpose of increasing the volumetric flow rate of water in Zayande-Rood dam is to irrigate the gardens and recharge the agricultural water wells of the counties of Zarrin Shahr, Mobarakeh, Felavarjan, Najaf Abad, and Khomeini Shahr."

"The volumetric flow rate of water of this dam has decreased since Friday after completing the water supply plan of the gardens of the west of Isfahan. Zayande-Rood River will flow in Mobarakeh County, in 60 kilometers from the southwest of Isfahan, in the next two days, then it will be dried gradually," he said. Currently, Zayande-Rood River as the biggest water flow in the middle area of the country is dry between Cham-Aseman water treatment plant and Gav Khooni lagoon.
