Automated parking systems to increase in Isfahan

"Concerning the insufficient public space in the city, increasing the number of automated parking systems has been put on the agenda," Isfahan deputy mayor for transportation and traffic said.

Isfahan (IMNA) - "One of the Isfahan municipality's policies in order to solve the problem of car parking throughout the city is constructing the automated parking systems due to the insufficient space of the land with a suitable usage; these kinds of parking systems require limited space," Alireza Salavati said.

Pointing to the launch of the first automated parking system of the city in University Street, he said, "The automated parking systems in 5th municipal district of Isfahan, with 36 car park spaces and a credit over 15 billion Rials was constructed 3 years ago which was a successful experience in this regard."

"With the cooperation of the private sector, it is possible to increase the number of automated parking systems of the city; if this purpose is achieved, citizen's needs for parking spaces will be satisfied and the capacities will be multiplied," he said.

Saying that in the near future, a call will be issued to attract the private sector investors in order to construct the automated parking systems of the city, he added, "The municipality will consider special facilities to encourage the citizens to construct the parking systems."

Mentioning that changing the existing parking systems into the automated one is not economical, since most of the time the parking capacities is not often filled, he added, "In a city like Isfahan that its land has a high land value, constructing such parking systems is an effective measure as they occupy less space and provide more space for cars."
