Isfahan (IMNA) - "The selection of cities and global villages and introducing them to the World Crafts Council was the reason for beginning the process of selecting the national cities and villages of crafts," Pouya Mahmoudian added. "The members of the council score each proposed cities and villages after reviewing the cases and evaluating the indicators, and finally the areas which receive the quorum score will be selected for national registration," the deputy director of handicrafts and traditional arts said. "The indicators that are determined for selecting national cities and villages of handicrafts in the council, are related to subjects like export, promotion and development of handicrafts, cultural heritage field, tourist attractions, and the amount of NGO's activities," he continued.
Pointing to the national cities and villages of handicrafts, Mahmoudian added, "Zanjan city in the field of filigree, Kashan in the field of traditional textile, Iranshahr in the field of needlework, Bojnurd in the Northern Khorasan province in the field of Kurdish Kilim, Abade in Fars province in the field of carving, Illam in the field of embossed Kilim, Shahr-e Kord in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province in the field of felt, Fash village in Kermanshah province in the field of traditional instruments, Bask village in Khorasan Razavi in the field of filature, Ghasem Abad village in Gilan province in the field of tent textile weaving, Bidkordye village in Kerman province in the field of Kilim Chehel Mashouleh, were registered."
"Tehran in the field of glass, Samghavar village in Markazi province in the field of carving, Kordovan village in Bushehr province in the field of cloak weaving, Harsin village in Kermanshah province in the field of Kilim, and Orumieh in west Azerbaijan in the field of woodworking, will be registered after re-examining and overcoming the shortcomings in this regard," he also added.
