Required infrastructures for Imam Ali square to be provided

"Business boom in Imam Ali Square requires supplying infrastructures; we are now planning on providing the required infrastructures according to our predetermined schedules," the director of Imam Ali Square Project said.

Isfahan (IMNA) - "Since the beginning of the restoration operations of Imam Ali Square, the constructional structure of this square was formed. However, the required infrastructures, facilities and services which were planned to be transferred to the project has not still provided," Mehdi Rezaei, the director of Imam Ali Square Project, said.

"During the past year, the problems of electricity, water, gas, and sewage of the first and second phases of the square were solved by negotiating with serving organizations. All of the telecommunication problems in the first phase were also solved; in the second phase, half of the issues are eliminated and the other half is also under control," he added.

Expressing that, business development in this square depends on providing required infrastructures, Rezaei added, "We have progressed to provide all required items; a board of trustees was also formed by the trade people in Imam Ali square in order to investigate the issues related to this square. "Transportation is one of the most important and sensitive issues regarding the prosperity of this square. In order to ease people’s traffic and increase the prosperity of the square, two BRT stations are built under the square," he said.

"Regarding parking lots, which was another important issue in the square, the problems of the parking lots located on northern side of the square as well as lighting facilities, air conditioners, and stable electricity of parking are resolved," Rezaei continued.

Referring to the development of green space in Imam Ali Square, Rezaee said, "In this regard, some meetings were held with Parks and Green Space Organization of Isfahan Municipality. Therefore, planting drought-tolerant species and using new irrigation methods to cool the square's area are planned."
