Isfahan (IMNA) - Stating that the historical background of Isfahan is based on its parkways, Bazars, and squares, Masood Karimian said, “Chaharbagh Avenue which is known as a garden path throughout the world, is considered as one of the historical values of the city.”
He added that the design plan for Chahar Bagh Avenue (meaning, literally, 'four gardens'), was provided by Sheikh Baha'i during the Safavid era. This beautiful garden path continued to be as a strategic route between Safavid government center and the river, which extended to Sofe Mountain.
Saying that gardens formed the main structure of Isfahan in the past, Masood Karimian added, "There were gardens with different sizes which belonged to the head of states and their relative". These gardens were named as Bagh-e Zereshk (Barberry Garden) and Bagh-e Hezarjarib (the Garden of thousand acres).“In order to organize and beautify the airport entrance of Isfahan, the municipality of the city has planned to plant rows of trees and flower in this area.” He stated.
Moreover, Karimian added, “There are a lot of agricultural land around the airport entrance gate, so we try to create a good landscape and also build special routes to guide tourists toward monuments in a shortest possible time."
He said the plan for organizing the entrance gate of the airport has been completed and 30 billion Rials has been allocated for the project. It is expected that the amount of 20 billion Rials be financed with the district 10 of the municipality in addition to 10 billion Rials which is planned to be financed with the central municipality's credits.
