Isfahan needs cultural hangouts

These days, lack of cultural spaces for dynamic and young artists generation in Isfahan is felt more than ever before; we have many cafes in the city but no active and modern bookstore.

Isfahan (IMNA) - The bookstores of the city are also operating in the same traditional way, however, the good cultural news for Isfahan, which was released a few days earlier, was that Soroush Sahat is setting up a Tehran-based "book city" in Isfahan in order to provide a cultural hangout for Isfahan book lovers.

The good news refers to the last January when Soroush Sehat had been in talks with the Cultural Commission of the Islamic Council of Isfahan to launch a cultural hangout in the city. We have to wait and see when this cultural space will be set up.

Soroush Sehat, the author, director, and actor of cinema and television, said, "during a meeting with the Cultural Commission of the City Council, I proposed a plan to set up a cultural hangout in Isfahan, in the field of written literature, works of drama such as film and theater as well as visual arts, music, and Esfahanology". According to what Sehat said, he has shared the facilities and abilities in hand with members of the city council.

According to Sehat’s point of view, this hangout can be set up as a bookcity or a cultural complex, in order to be able to leverage the abilities of the artists, scholars, and professors of Isfahan and other cities in the future. Sorosh Sehat also said that the plan is going to be managed by him. Moreover, he hoped that the municipality of Isfahan would agree with the plan; in this way, the first steps to build a cultural hangout will be taken successfully.
